Founded in Lugano in 2012, REC is an independent cultural association with a particular focus on audiovisual production, education and collaboration with the local community.

REC develops and produces documentaries, fiction films, podcasts and audio projects. Alongside its own productions, it creates audiovisual content for institutions, associations, festivals and other cultural and social organisations. Its projects often emerge from the encounter between artistic languages, individual experiences and collective issues, with a particular interest in lesser-known stories, people on the margins of society and communities that struggle to find a place in the public narrative.

REC’s work spans cinema, radio, podcasts and new narrative formats, connecting local perspectives with broader historical, political and social issues. Over the years, the association has developed productions exploring memory, migration, human rights, social change and forms of civic participation, collaborating with broadcasters, festivals, institutions and independent organisations.

Alongside production, REC considers education and the sharing of skills an essential part of its work. Through courses, audiovisual workshops and participatory projects aimed at diverse audiences, it encourages an active and informed engagement with images, sound and storytelling tools. Audiovisual media thus become not only a means of professional and artistic expression, but also a tool for exchange, learning and participation.

REC also works as a production and technical partner, providing expertise, equipment and experience to support independent projects and cultural initiatives. Collaboration with professionals, associations, institutions and festivals is an integral part of its approach: a network of relationships that encourages the exchange of knowledge, the emergence of new ideas and the development of audiovisual production in Italian-speaking Switzerland.

Over the years, REC has built a practice that brings together research, production and cultural engagement, while maintaining an independent structure and an openness to experimentation. Its aim is to continue telling meaningful stories, giving space to diverse perspectives and contributing to a pluralistic audiovisual landscape that is rooted in its local context while engaging with the wider world.

Multifunctional Auditorium: Courses, workshops and meetings

It is possible to rent our auditorium, 12 -16 places that contains 7 apple computers HD projector and audio system. Suitable for courses, lab workshops, computer and audiovisual seminars, small conferences and meetings. There is an accessible and independent entrance. There is the possibility to make audio and visual recordings of meetings. A small kitchen with a recess room on the premises. Wireless internet , telephone, parking facilities are at hand. It is possible to have at ones disposal an accessorized Edit Suite in the immediate vicinity.
